The Conference's environment program has attracted national and international attention
for its innovative and pioneering work on a number of issues, ranging from air and water
quality to waste issues. The Conference has been a leader on such matters as reducing air
emissions and addressing public health issues associated with environmental problems.
The Conference addresses issues through its Environment Committee, which is comprised
of the Commissioners of the State departments of environmental protection. The NEGC also
works closely with the New England Regional Office of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
