On January 9, 2003, Craig Benson was inaugurated as Governor of New
Hampshire.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Babson College and an MBA
from Syracuse University. He worked at Teradyne, Inc. from 1979-1981 and at
Inetlan from 1981-1983. In 1983, he started Cabletron Systems, and moved the
company to Rochester, NH in 1985. He served as Chairman, COO, CEO,
President and Director of Operations for the company from 1983-1999.
Cabletron became one of the fastest-growing privately-held companies in the
U.S. By 1994, Cabletron reached $1.6 billion in sales with more than 7,000
employees in 130 countries. In 2000, Mr. Benson was an Adjunct Professor of
Entrepreneurship at Babson College.
He lives in Rye, NH with his wife of 19 years, Denise; they have two
daughters.
