This important symposium will bring together scientists and policy-makers from the U.S. and Canada to explore the scientific understanding of the environmental and economic impacts of climate variability on natural resources in the northeast. Participants will discuss options and develop action strategies for managing adaptation to a changing climate

Conference Goals:

  • Provide New England and Eastern Canadian natural resource managers, policy makers and other stakeholders a strong base of scientific knowledge about the present and potential effects of climate change on the region's natural resources.
  • Explore examples of conservation strategies that have been undertaken as well as considering assessment measures of success of those actions.
  • Develop recommendations to the NEG/ECP for action.

Hotel Information:

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Omni Parker House Hotel (617-227-8600) at a rate of $159 U.S. per night. Please refer to the room block 'NEGC'. The room block expires 2-14-04.

Registration Fee:

The conference registration fee is $250 U.S., with checks made payable to the New England Governors' Conference, Inc. Participants will receive email confirmation of their registration after payment has been received by the NEGC. Refunds will be issued for cancellations received by March 8, 2004. Registrations may be made on-line, or by printing out the registration form and mailing it to the NEGC.
